About the Northeast Family and Carer-led Centre (FCLC)  Access Health and Community will lead the Family and Carer Led Centres (FCLC), in partnership with Self Help Addiction Resource Centre (SHARC), healthAbility and Inspiro, to deliver mental health and wellbeing services for families and carers in Northeast Metro region of Victoria. We aspire to provide a service of hope, recovery and humanity to improve the mental health and wellbeing of families and carers within our community. Our service is codesigned, governed and led by people with lived/living experience as families or carers of people with mental health and/or substance use challenges.The opportunity  The Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a range of activities offered at the Family and Carer-led Centre (FCLC) that are both worker and volunteer led, including one-on-one direct support and delivery of peer support and psychoeducation groups. Supported by the Lived/Living Experience Practice Lead and Manager, FCLC, this role involves assisting with volunteer recruitment, training and the ongoing support or volunteers at satellite sites. The Program Coordinator will use their own lived/living experience as a family member, carer or supporter of someone with mental health and /or substance use challenges to provide a safe, welcoming and compassionate environment for families, carers and supporters to feel supported, listened to, and understood. What you will be doingDevelop and implement a schedule for group programs, including local event promotion, rostering and coordinationRecruit volunteers to deliver support services within the Northeast Family and Carer-led CentreSupport a team of volunteers whose work may include a range of activities from "front of house" meet and greet duties, answering a support line, or facilitating group programsParticipate in professional development, supervision and reflective practiceRepresent the FCLC in local, regional and statewide networks, forums and presentations as appropriateWhat you will bring  Identify as having lived or living experience as a family member/carer of someone with mental health and/or substance use challenges Relevant training, qualifications and/or experience in family/carer lived experience roles (such as Intentional Peer Support (IPS) training, a Cert IV in Peer Support or previous paid/voluntary role in family/carer peer work) is highly desirableDemonstrated experience and/or relevant training in program administration, event coordination or program supportExcellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skillsPrevious experience working with and supporting volunteers is highly desirable Attributes A genuine commitment to accepting people’s differences and to respecting the rights of others to make their own choicesAn ability to work sensitively and from a trauma-informed approach with people of diverse cultures, abilities, ages, sexualities and gender identitiesLived or living experience as a family member, carer or supporter of someone with mental health and/or substance use challenges Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Northeast Metro Family and Carer-led Centre valuesFamily and Carer-led Centre Culture & Benefits We offer more than just a fulfilling career; we provide an environment where you can thrive in a culture of collaboration and support.
