This program creatively engages isolated and hardly reached community members who face barriers to finding and accessing services.As a Community Engagement Outreach Worker, you will build meaningful connections with people who are experiencing isolation within the community and assist them to connect with health and social supports within local government areas of Boroondara and Manningham.The Community Outreach and Engagement Worker will also support the development of collaboration and partnerships with other community, social and health services. About the role

Be part of a new and expanding Outreach Program and work within a truly supportive and value-based culture. What you will be doing

What you will bringKey Selection Criteria

In addition to your passion and purpose to support vulnerable people within our community you will have;

  • Experience in community engagement, development and outreach programs particularly, with marginalized and hardly reached community members
  • Certificate IV (Mental Health peer work or equivalent), and/or demonstrated experience working with clients who experience mental health challenges in a community setting
  • Tertiary degree in Psychology, Social Work or Community Development (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role highly regarded
  • Proficiency in spoken languages other than English especially Arabic, Farsi, Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese (desirable)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications
